Here is one of the first comedy sketches I wrote, called P.C. CONTROL FREAKINT. GIRLS BEDROOM – NIGHT A seven year old girl is snuggled up to her mum, while she reads to her from a book. MUM Once upon a time, Little Red Riding Hood's socially inadequate mother forced her to take some wine and biscuits to her alcoholic grandmother. LITTLE GIRL You mean... like my Granny? MUM Yes dear, now don't interrupt. Anyway, Little Red Riding Hood rather unwisely chose the path through the creepy woods, where a wolf-like teenage boy hung out. He spotted Little Red Riding Hood skipping along, gathering rare plants, and saw his chance. LITTLE GIRL Did he eat her all up, Mummy? MUM No, he reported her to the Royal Horticultural Society for picking rare flora, and she was barred from the society’s echelons for life. LITTLE GIRL Was that bad, Mummy? MUM Her mother never recovered from the shame, and took her own life by drinking hemlock. LITTLE GIRL I'll never pick rare flowers again, Mummy. MUM Good girl! NEXT!

I am a little lost in this scene. Is the little girl Red Riding Hood? If so shouldn't the Mum be dead. I do like the twist of the wolf-like teenage boy. Instead of RHC narc though why not have him use the info gained to get into her Little Red basket(knickers) as you would say over there.

Maybe this is a culture thing (Brit vs US humour)... the little girl is being told a bedtime story about a fictional red riding hood character, with the sole aim of scaring the little girl into behaving in what the mother sees as a 'politically correct' way... basically the mother in this sketch is a bit warped! If you imagine the mother being upper class English as you read, it may make more sense to you.
